Trevor grew up bouncing around most of Southern Idaho and I in Northern California. How did we meet...(looong story, that'll come later!) But we always loved ranching, this way of life and our passions for wanting something greater and more meaningful to life.
We ended up landing in the vast, beautiful, wild landscapes of Eastern Idaho. Y'all ranching is not just our passion; it's what we were meant to do. I'm Megan, a first-generation rancher, living my dream amidst the beauty of nature, surrounded by the animals I adore. My husband, Trevor, and I started this journey on 2020 with insane dreams and a burning desire to build a legacy for our kids and generations to come.
We dedicate everything with a passion and love for the land and our livestock. Why do we ranch? It's about connection - to the land, to our animals, and ultimately, to connect more people to their food that they didn't know was available to them.
Ranching is a labor of love, where every day brings new challenges and rewards. It's about the peace that comes with the sunrise over the fields, the joy of watching new calves take their first steps, and the satisfaction of knowing that we are stewarding the land in harmony with nature.
Our commitment to raising quality livestock is born from a desire to share the bounty of our ranch with those who value quality, transparency, and sustainability. We continue to work towards sustainability, focusing on soil health, animal welfare, and eco-friendly practices to ensure that our meat is not only undoubtedly delicious but also contributes positively to our environment.
Selling directly allows us to forge a unique connection, one where you know the story of your food, from pasture to your plate. It's about bringing you into our ranch family as part of our family! Sharing the joys and challenges of ranch life, and offering you a product that's raised with care, respect, and a whole lot of heart.
Why do we love to ranch? Because it allows us to live out our values every day - caring for our animals, nurturing the land, being grateful for the bounty God provides us, raising our kids in an open environment where they get to learn and experience so much more that many do not, and providing you with the highest quality beef, beefalo & bison that's not just food, but a story of our passion, our dedication, and love.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. Together, we're not just enjoying the unmatched quality of our meat; we're making a difference, one steak at a time.
Thank you for being part of our Triangle S Family!

The mRNA Vaccine Development and Testing
Contrary to popular belief, mRNA vaccine research for livestock has actually been underway for years. Iowa State University, a pioneering institution in agricultural research, has been actively testing mRNA vaccines since 2011. The mRNA vaccine is fortunately not required nor will be in the near future in the cattle industry in the United States.
Understanding the mRNA Vaccine
At its core, mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid) vaccines operate on a simple yet profound principle. When injected into the body, mRNA then serves as a code of specific instructions to cells in the body about how to manufacture a protein (or part of one) that mimics the shape characteristics of the virus. That protein then triggers the antibody immune response in the body that fights the real virus. (Ref: Alderspring Ranch)
Livestock Vaccination: A Matter of Choice
Trevor and I strongly believe that producers should exercise their freedom to choose when it comes to vaccination decisions. We adamantly support that vaccinations, including the mRNA vaccine, should never be mandated or coerced upon livestock producers. Each producer possesses invaluable insight into their herd's unique needs, like ourselves, and respecting their judgment is paramount in fostering a collaborative and supportive agricultural community. The exception arises when participating in specific certification programs or contractual agreements with companies that stipulate vaccination protocols. We would like to add that when it comes to vaccinating, whether it be viral &/or bacterial, for every producer big and small to do their research and make educated, well-informed decisions to their vaccination protocol and honestly do what they feel is right for their program and not just what everyone else is doing.
Our Personal Stance
In alignment with our principles, education and observations, we stand behind our decision to never the administration of mRNA vaccine to our livestock. Despite external pressures or industry trends, we prioritize the holistic health and natural resilience of our animals. Through meticulous management practices and targeted interventions, we have cultivated a thriving herd without relying on experimental vaccines or pharmaceutical interventions.
A Personal Commitment to Health
Our decision to abstain from mRNA vaccination and many others is not arbitrary; it stems from a deep-seated commitment to healthy, natural, ethical and sustainable livestock management. As advocates for agricultural diversity and individual choice, we respect the decisions of all producers regarding vaccination practices. In our operation, we have chosen not to vaccinate our livestock for viral infections. Despite this choice, we have observed no discernible difference in the health or well-being of our animals. Instead, we prioritize bacterial infection prevention through a single immunity shot that is given one-time in their life, tailored to our herd's specific needs. In doing this, we virtually eliminate the stress from over working our livestock by constantly vaccinating and increase the overall health of our animals! Ensuring a more happy and healthy animal!
Looking Forward: Advocating for Informed Choices
As stewards of our land and livestock, we recognize the importance of informed decision-making and ongoing dialogue within the agricultural community. We urge producers to prioritize research, transparency, and shared learning to safeguard the integrity of our farming practices and the well-being of our animals.
Our stance to administering vaccines to our livestock reflects our unwavering commitment to ethical and evidence and experience-based livestock management. By empowering producers to make informed choices and advocating for transparency and independence, we uphold the principles of integrity and sustainability in agriculture.
We personally believe that by taking such precautions we are producing a true natural and healthy product for you, in turn improving your personal health and well-being too. We encourage everyone to always do your homework and don't be afraid to ask questions. And if you're a future customer trying to find the right product for you - ask questions like these to find out how their animals are being cared for and handled so you can make informed decisions on the food that you consume!
Our goal is to not only have happy & healthy livestock, but have happy & healthy customers like yourself! Transparency is key and that's one of the things you will always find with us, Triangle S (the Stark Family), is we will always be transparent because you deserve it.
]]>I want you to ask yourself; Is buying meat from a grocery store truly the best option? Or, is it simply what you know, and is therefore comforting?
When you peruse the aisles of your local grocery store, the illusion of "fresh" meat may be deceiving. Question the status quo and consider the source of your meat. Unlike the ambiguous blends found in grocery stores, our commitment to transparency ensures you receive the essence of a singular, ethically raised animal in every cut.
The truth is this: when you buy meat from a grocery store, you don’t truly know what you’re getting for your money?
Ever wondered about the origin of your grocery store meat? When it comes to choosing your meat, let's go beyond the surface. Pay close attention to the meat label, specifically the "country of origin." What seems like an American find on the shelves might have journeyed globally before reaching our local slaughterhouses.
In reality, the beef or even bison you're bringing into your home didn't start their journey on American soil. This raises serious questions about how these animals were treated and cared for AND the simple fact that you're not supporting American farmers or ranchers—factors that significantly impact the taste and quality of the meat. Adding to the complexity, different countries have varied quality standards, creating a mystery about the true nature of the product.
Think of it as a story, one that goes beyond the glossy packaging. As you peruse the aisles, be a conscious consumer, seeking not just a label but the genuine story behind the meat you're choosing. Do you KNOW where it came from?
Triangle S prioritizes locally sourced, ethically ranch raised livestock, eliminating the uncertainties surrounding treatment, feeding, and care. Say goodbye to the mystery behind foreign-sourced meats—welcome a truly remarkable taste with our conscientiously selected and sourced options.
What's the nuances of store-bought beef? Brace yourself for a revelation: some of it is injected with red dye to give it that appealing pink and fresh look.
And here's a not-so-secret detail: stores and most pre-packaged meats are often injected meat with a special water compound. This serves a dual purpose—it increases the weight of the package due to the injected water and utilizes additives for extended freshness. It's a clever tactic, but as a discerning consumer, it's crucial to be in the know about these behind-the-scenes practices.
As you navigate the world of meat choices, consider this your insider's guide, shedding light on the subtle complexities of what goes into the packages you bring home.
Triangle S Meats shatters the illusion of synthetic enhancements found in store-bought beef. Our commitment to authenticity means you can indulge in the true best meat that is free from artificial injections and synthetic dyes. Each cut is a pure, unadulterated experience, promising a genuine farm-to-table journey.
The truth is, determining the freshness of store-bought meat is a challenging task. It undergoes a journey—from being packed frozen to its transportation to the store, where it's thawed once again and presented as "fresh" and high-quality. Particularly, hamburger meat is vulnerable to contamination while lingering on store shelves, and surprisingly, a significant amount of meat goes bad without detection.
These concerns aren't isolated incidents; they're prevalent issues. Opting for grocery store purchases entails inherent risks compared to sourcing from a local farm. Local farms offer heightened transparency not only about the livestock but also regarding the value you're getting for your money.
In this intricate landscape of meat choices, understanding the nuances is crucial. Consider this insight as your guide to navigating the complexities and making informed decisions about the meat you bring into your home.
The term "fresh" takes on new meaning with Triangle S Meats as our dedication to quality extends beyond labels.
While grocery store alternatives may offer a mere 7 days of aging on their beef, our commitment to excellence results in a fork-tender experience that transcends expectations with our 21-day dry aged meat. Each bite tells a story of precision, care, and unrivaled flavor.
Triangle S Livestock isn't just a brand; it's a commitment to your well-being and culinary perfection. As we delve into alternative, healthier meat purchasing options, your culinary journey awaits.
Triangle S Meats stands as a beacon of authenticity, transparency, and extraordinary flavor. Elevate your palate and embark on a meaty adventure where every cut is a testament to our dedication to quality. Experience the richness of Triangle S Meats and take control of what you put into your body.

Facing the Storms Head-On:
The legal tussle with a local meat shop unfolded like a chapter from a novel, each page revealing unexpected twists and turns. We've fought valiantly, and while the battle isn't over, our resilience has been unwavering. In the face of adversity, we downsized, restructured, and got creative in our approach. We danced with challenges, and though sales took a hit, we emerged with a refined business plan, a streamlined operation, and a marketing strategy ready to conquer new horizons.
Rising Costs, Falling Sales, Unyielding Spirit:
The economic storm hit hard not just for us but for so many in 2023. Costs rose by an average of 75%, a tempest that sent shockwaves through our ranch. We tightened our belts, adapted, and learned to navigate the stormy seas. Sales declined, but our spirit remained unbroken. We used these setbacks as stepping stones to a more resilient future.
Looking Ahead with Hope:

Cheers to an amazing 2024!
]]>Let's start with the ingredients:
1. 5 whole Lemon Peels, 5 whole Orange Peels, 1 whole Lemon (cut/squeezed), and 1 whole Orange: It's as if Mamma's recipe is nature's treasure chest. The vibrant, zesty peels of lemons and oranges bring an instant burst of sunshine to your day. And when you throw in a fresh lemon and orange, it's like inviting the citrus gods to your kitchen.
2. 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar: The vinegar of the apple orchard gods! It adds a tangy twist to the elixir, making your taste buds dance.
3. 1 tbsp Sea Salt: A teaspoon of sea salt for that touch of the sea breeze, because even when you're under the weather, you can still dream of the beach.
4. 2 tbsp Turmeric: This golden spice is like a little ball of sunshine in your cup, with a host of health benefits to boot.
5. 2 tbsp Ginger: The friendly fire-breathing dragon of your immune system. It wakes you up, clears your sinuses, and makes your throat feel like it's had a soothing spa day.
6. 3 tbsp Cloves: A spice that's warm and comforting, just like a hug from Mamma herself.
Now, for the fun part. The instructions are simple, but the process is steeped in tradition, love, and laughter:
Fill a medium pot 3/4 full of water. Mamma's pot, weathered with time, holds the secrets of countless family remedies. It's like a little treasure chest of wellness.
Mix all the ingredients together in the pot. This is where the magic happens. The peels release their zesty aroma, and the spices infuse the water with their potent goodness. As you stir, you can almost hear the echoes of Mamma's giggles and wisdom.
Turn on the stove to medium heat and let it come to a boil. The elixir bubbles and steams, just like Mamma's stories on a chilly evening. It's a symphony of flavors and emotions.
Boil for 5 minutes, then let it simmer for an hour. The kitchen fills with a fragrant cloud of love and healing. It's as if the universe itself is conspiring to make you feel better.
Stir occasionally. This is the secret ingredient: a pinch of patience and a sprinkle of hope. A dash of humor wouldn't hurt either.
Mix with 1-2 tablespoons of honey in your mug and enjoy! As you take that first sip, the elixir wraps you in a warm embrace. It's like a long-lost friend, a cozy blanket, and a belly laugh all rolled into one.
Mamma's elixir is not just a concoction of ingredients; it's a potion of love, care, and healing. It's a reminder that in a world of fast fixes and instant solutions, sometimes the best medicine comes from a cherished recipe, a warm kitchen and ingredients that actually work... A great healthy resource to order your spices from that we use often is King Arthur Baking, I highly recommend ordering from these guys - we've never been disappointed!
So, here's to Mamma's Homemade Natural Sicker Fixer Elixir—a sip of sunshine, a hug in a mug, and a remedy for the soul. It's not just a potion; it's a little piece of magic in a cup, brewed with love and laughter. Cheers to wellness, to tradition, and to Mamma, who knew that the best medicine is made with a pinch of love and a dash of humor.
]]>The Homestead Baker's Secret: Sourdough Sweetness
In the world of homesteading, there's an undeniable charm in crafting your own bread, and when you add a touch of sourdough to the mix, the result is nothing short of extraordinary. Not having to use store-bought highly processed yeast, but instead your natural yeast called sourdough starter. Now, imagine achieving all of that without relying on refined sugars but instead opting for the natural sweetness of honey or maple syrup.
Embracing the Sourdough Symphony
At the heart of my homestead-inspired recipe lies the star of the show - an active sourdough starter. A bustling community of wild yeasts and friendly bacteria, this living culture brings a symphony of flavors and textures to our bread. But fear not, fellow homesteaders! There's no tang here; instead, we're greeted with a harmonious blend of sweet perfection, creating the perfect melody for our taste buds.
Homestead Happiness: Kneading, Rising, and Baking
Sourdough may seem intimidating to many and thats all because of these boutique type homesteaders or bakers literally OVER-COMPLICATE it! I can't tell yall enough how simple this is. Sourdough is so simple and easy, they key is timing and giving it time to do it's thing.
When making this bread and any bread with sourdough starter, the key is in the rise. Give your bread time to rise. Sourdough take anywhere between 8-12 hrs to make it's 1st rise...thats the timing thing. Dont over rise it or it'll deflate your bread. So when making this bread, keep the timing in mind. Thats literally the only key, so dont overwhelm yourself cuz its ridiculously easy!
Homemade and Healthy
In the realm of homesteading, it's all about embracing a healthier alternative without compromising on flavor. Using honey or maple syrup instead of refined sugar not only enhances the sweetness but also aligns with the homestead philosophy of wholesome, healthy living.
So, whether you're a seasoned homesteader, baker or a curious soul just starting on your bread-making journey, this recipe proves to be a game changer to sourdough. Savor the sweetness, revel in the fluffy texture, and let your homestead spirit infuse every bite. It's time to bring a touch of Texas Roadhouse magic to your very own kitchen, one sweet sourdough slice at a time.
Get ready to embrace the homestead baker within you – where every roll tells a story, and every bite is a celebration of simplicity and flavor.

]]>Bryan was a young cowboy born on August 1, 2007, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Aurelio Altamirano and Patricia Luis Altamirano.
Bryan had a love of Rodeo and was a dedicated and talented bull rider. He started riding bulls at the age of just 10 years old and he left everything in his heart in the arena. Bryan won 1st place at the State Finals last year which earned him a spot to Nationals. Bryan earned many awards from the Professional Bull Riders Association (PBR), which he was very proud of. He was fearless and had a big brave heart. He was also on the Snake River Wrestling team and loved every minute of being in the gym on the wrestling mat. Bryan suddenly passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 in Springfield, Idaho just days after his 15th birthday.
We had the amazing opportunity to attend and be a part of the 1st Bryan Altamirano Memorial benefit rodeo held on Oct. 1st, 2022 at the Bancroft Rodeo grounds.
People came to support the Altamirano family and ride for the event from all over, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Montana, and of course our local support from Idaho. It was a beautiful day and everyone had such a fun time.
Wesley Mower was the head of organization for the rodeo, with Trevor Stark, Aaron Capson, and Riley Butler as pickup men. We wanted to thank the stock contractors, Chad Casperson and Bill Clark and the Bullfighters, Kaleb Mower, Tate Fonnesbeck, Antonio Hollum, and funny man, Shane Haggard. Another big thanks goes to the Mower family who helped put on the entire rodeo.
There were over 40 entries of Bullriders total. They had Senior Bulls, Junior Bulls and Mini Bulls. They had practice runs, non competitive, and runs after the rodeo. Our son Wyatt Stark, age 8, rode his 1st mini-bull for the 1st time ever after the rodeo to practice. Made it 4 seconds and did well!
The very last Bull that was bucked out was a tribute ghost run for Bryan with his chaps tied off to the bull when he was turned out. It was very emotional for everyone to watch and great to see Bryan's last ride.
There were several donations not only for the event but to the Altamirano family. There was a live auction held in between the bull riding of donated items such as gear, services (horseshoeing, car detailing, pip changes, etc), beef and beefalo meat packages from us, Triangle S Livestock, and many many more donations auctioned off.
All money raised in the silent auction was donated to the Altamirano family. All of the expenses for the event were donated such as the rodeo location, rent for the bulls, hay for the bulls, EMT’s, buckles, shirts, custom sweatshirts, and so much more. On top of all of this, thousands of dollars were donated to the Altamirano family to help with any expenses.
This event will now become an annual event to always remember the young bull rider, Bryan Altamirano, and his wonderful family. Everyone had an amazing time at this event and it was truly amazing to see the rodeo and ranching community come together as a family and support a family in need.
Look out for information coming in the coming months for the 2nd annual Bryan Altamirano rough stock Benefit Rodeo in 2023 as we plan to not only attend, volunteer and donate time and funds but also possibly compete if Wyatt decides to compete next year…we'll see! Congrats to all of the winners and most of all Condolences to the Altamirano family and we hope this event helps with healing as Bryan will always be remembered!

Well believe it or not (which it may be hard to believe), most livestock producers don't make much profit even if the beef is higher priced!
As many know and have experienced, the Coronavirus as wreaked havoc on everyone across the world and seems to just not end like we all hoped it would. With so many things happening in the world right now and no end in sight, things are all over the place and the only thing that seems consistent anymore is the rising costs of pretty much everything...especially fuel and food!
Over the years livestock producers struggle with constant rising costs on just about every level from feed, fuel, insurance, grazing, taxes, equipment, seed, and so much more. Raising livestock is hard and expensive and can be daunting at times trying to constantly punch numbers to hopefully make a profit at the years end.
This isn't new information, most of y'all know how basic economics work and what we're going to say here isn't necessarily a surprise.
SO here goes.....If producers costs go up, so will the price of meat and as goes with most food. This time last year (Fall 2020), the AVERAGE nationwide cost of alfalfa hay was approx. $170/ton. Corn was at $3.61/bushel and diesel fuel was at $2.55/gallon. Today is another story. Today, the average nationwide cost of alfalfa hay is now $280/ton, Corn is at $6.32/bushel and diesel fuel is $3.67. Just those 3 commodities alone is an average increase of 65% just within the last year. Yup you heard that right!
While these numbers are national averages, prices always vary by area and will effect everyone differently. Many of you folks know that when a business' costs rise their product/service costs will also go up appropriately to continue a hopeful profit margin. Not every rancher does this...balancing to make sure they are still maintaining a profit margin at whatever percentage that is. It's challenging to punch so many numbers and come up with a profit margin that not only the business or rancher can be happy with but also be enough to keep their customers happy and coming back!
One of our biggest constant stressors is crunching our numbers to make sure we are still keeping a margin enough to pay down debts, keep things growing all while trying retain and grow our customer base with our prices. It's tricky and nothing but a balancing act, but we have to do it.
Y'all one thing to keep in mind is that the beef you consume (at least for our beef) is a higher grade and higher quality beef. Unlike general beef you buy in the store that is implanted with hormones to make them grow and finish faster, raising all-natural beef without hormones or antibiotics takes longer to finish out properly.
In order to get that high grade meat, it takes high grade effort - feeding high quality feed also means higher costs. The longer we feed them, the most our expenses go up on that individual animal. The more money we pour into that animal the more the price goes up on that beef. In order to get that high marbled prime grade beef that really savors in your mouth, it takes time and feeding high quality ingredients to get just that. There really is a science to this that many do not realize nor understand and that's a-ok! Here at Triangle S we will not jeopardize the integrity of our feed or program to cut costs. We cut costs where we need to and where it makes sense just like everyone else, but we don't let that compromise our program because if we do and do it wrong it will drastically effect the outcome of our delicious beef.
What many also don't realize is the risk in the livestock industry. Raising livestock is never a guarantee. Reality hits and we have accidents that happen on occasion to our livestock that are out of our control such as sickness, injury, erratic weather, inconsistent individual gains and the worst of them all...death. You never know what is going to happen but one thing that is certain in this industry is uncertainty.
Y'all there's been times where we've fed and checked steers, everyone was perfectly fine, happy and healthy and the next morning there's one dead randomly...no legit reason just dead. Or you go out to check cows and see one with a broken leg from stepping into a rock chuck hole out pasture and now have to put it down. There's so...many...things...that can happen! But we wouldn't change it for the world, no matter how ridiculously stressful it is.
We are always trying to figure out ways to lower our costs, especially when everything is increasing. We do what we can to adjust where we need and get scrappy when we need to in order to bring costs down that we can actually control. It's nothing but a constant balancing act of what to cut & adjust & where. If any of y'all have met a farmer or rancher, you probably figured out that we are pretty darn good at getting scrappy and thinking on our feet! You have to when you have large bills to pay and constant expenses coming at you, along with trying to be prepared for the unexpected.
As everyone's situation is different on an individual basis, all that we can control here at Triangle S is our own ranch and our own operation. We would love it if costs were back to where they were a year ago. We would love it if we could lower the cost of our beef to our customers if it was viable. We would love it even more if more folks understood the reality and risk when it comes to raising livestock. However we and many others have to make sure our costs are covered to stay in business and please know, we will always do what we can to keep our prices of our beef as low as possible that is feasible for you...our freaking rad customers!
